On Friday, April 18 at 2:11 p.m. in Southampton, Town Police received a call from Franco Amaya, age 19, of Hampton Bays, stating he had been assaulted at a party.
Several officers responded and found that Mr. Amaya was not injured and that he was intoxicated and belligerent, and verbally abusive toward the officers. He then lunged at one of the officers, knocking him to the ground.
Mr. Amaya was then arrested and transported to the Police Headquarters for processing and held for arraignment in the morning.
A check of the area was done but no party was found nearby.
Mr. Amaya was charged with Resisting Arrest, a class "A" Misdemeanor, and Harrassment, a 2nd class violation.
