Town Police Log: $1,000 Engagement Ring Missing

Also in this week's police reports, officers arrest two Sag Harbor men for marijuana possession in the Bridgehampton Commons parking lot.

Burglary

• A 30-year-old Bridgehampton man told town police that sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 5, someone went into his Sag Harbor-Bridgehampton Turnpike home and stole $500 cash and a $1,000 engagement ring, according to the incident report. Police are investigating.

Grand Larceny

• A 26-year-old Southampton man who is a manager at told town police that sometime on Dec. 11 around 3:40 a.m. someone stole his company pick-up truck, which is valued at $30,000 and was parked in front of his home on County Road 39. The man told police he had locked the doors and that his keys were inside his house, according to the incident report. Officers are investigating.

Unlawful Possession of Marijuana

• Two employees of the in Bridgehampton were cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, Dec. 2 at 9:26 p.m. in the parking lot of the Bridgehampton Commons. Police saw a 20-year-old man from Sag Harbor sitting in the driver’s seat of his 1992 Ford with a large amount of marijuana covering his backpack and the front of his clothes, according to an arrest report. Upon investigation, officers saw he had two other bags of marijuana, police said. A 23-year-old man also from Sag Harbor sitting in the passenger seat of the car was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana after officers saw that he had a prescription bottle filled with loose leaves of the drug, police said.
