Southampton Fire, Ambulance Officers Sworn In

Dennis Roy takes helm of Southampton Fire Department; Mark Klinger leads Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance.

The 2013 officers of the Southampton Fire Department and the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance took their oaths at the Southampton Village Board meeting Thursday, bringing new leadership to each emergency service.

After two years as second assistant chief and another two as first assistant chief, Dennis Roy was sworn in as chief engineer of the volunteer fire department, which serves Southampton Village, Tuckahoe, Water Mill, Shinnecock Hills and the Shinnecock Indian Reservation. Michael Kampf is the new first assistant chief and Chris Brenner is the new second assistant chief.

Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance's new chief is Mark Klinger, Rick Fowler is the new first assistant chief and Daniel Berry was sworn in as second assistant chief.

Also sworn in were the captains and lieutenants of the various companies within the Southampton Fire Department.
