On Friday morning the New York State Police in Riverside issued a press release about the shooting at the Shinnecock Reservation in Southampton Thursday morning at approximately 6 a.m.
Officers arrived in response to a 911 call. The victim, identified as male and 36 years old, was transported by private vehicle to Southampton hospital.
He was taken to surgery immediately for several wounds and is listed as in critical, but stable condition.

The shooting occurred at Soldiers Road on the Shinnecock Nation.
The release said all calls will be kept strictly confidential.
