Services for Ted Rosko Jr. Begin Saturday
Funeral for former North Sea fire chief will be Monday.
Long-time North Sea firefighter and former Chief Ted Rosko Jr. died this week, and visitations are planned this weekend followed by a funeral Monday.
Visitations will be Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at O'Connell Funeral Home in Southampton Village. North Sea Fire Department will host a firematic service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Basilica Parish of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Rosko was an assistant chief and chief during his 33-plus years with the North Sea Fire Department, and received the department's Firefighter of the Year award in 1986-87.
Rosko was a member of Firemen's Association of the State of New York since 1993. He joined the Fire Chiefs Committee in 2000 and served as chairman for a time, before stepping down to become a home trustee. He was unanimously re-elected to the Fireman's Home Board in September for a second five-year term.

In addition to FASNY, Rosko was a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs; National Fire Academy Alumni Association; New York State Association of Fire Chiefs and Southern New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association. Locally, he was a member of the Suffolk County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, of which he was president from 2007 to 2008; Suffolk County Firefighters Emerald Society; Southampton Town Fire Chiefs Council; and the Southampton Elks Lodge.
Rosko worked for the Southampton Town Highway Department.
