Driving While Intoxicated, Resisting Arrest

• Marco Rocano, 36, of Patchogue, was arrested Oct. 8 at 8:07 p.m. and charged with aggravated DWI and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, and traffic infractions. Police said Rocano was driving erratically northbound on Route 114 in a 1998 Honda Civic. He ran a stop sign at Bay Street and Division Street, and then failed to signal while turning onto Bay Street and almost hit the curb, according to the arrest report. Once pulled over, a police officer found that his breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were red and glassy and his speech was slurred, the report states. Rocano refused to turn off his car, and the arresting officer had to physically remove him from the vehicle, according to the report. Rocano was combative and flailed his arms, refusing to be handcuffed, the report states. Police said Rocano had scratches and bruises on his face, possibly from an earlier altercation, but he refused medical attention.
