Man arrested after being pulled over for failing to stay in his lane, police say.

Driving While Intoxicated

• Dego B. Pessoa, 29, was arrested Nov. 11 at 4:13 a.m. and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, as well as multiple vehicle and traffic violations. According to the arrest report, police pulled Pessoa over on Long Island Avenue for failing to maintain his lane while driving a 2002 Land Rover with inadequate tail lamps. Police said Pessoa has a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, his speech was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, and he had an unsteady gait. He refused to submit to a breath test at police headquarters, according to the report. He was held overnight for arraignment. The arrest report did not give a local address, but said Pessoa was born in Rio Dejaneiro.
