Driving While Intoxicated
Brent Boyce, 32, of Atlanta, Ga., was arrested June 30 at 9:05 p.m. on Hempstead Street and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor.
Police said they responded to a call of a possible accident near Route 114 and Jermain Avenue, and discovered a blue 2007 Nissan Sentra disabled on Hempstead Street with a flat front driver’s side tire. There were skid marks in the road that ran from the opposite curb, trailing to the Nissan, according to the arrest report. Boyce got out of the vehicle told a police officer that he lost control after making a turn from Route 114 onto Hempstead Street. He said his steering wheel locked up, he hit the curb and could not move the vehicle, the reports states. Police said Boyce appeared intoxicated and performed poorly on field sobriety tests
He was additionally charged with failure to keep right, a traffic infraction. The vehicle was towed and Boyce was taken to police headquarters and processed.
