Sag Harbor Police Log: Au Pair Charged With Child Endangerment

Endangering the Welfare of a Child

• Nikola Warm, 20, of Sag Harbor, was arrested on Aug. 2 on misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child. According to police, two children were seen in the back of a 2006 Toyota Prius, unattended, with the windows slightly rolled down.

An officer said he stood by with the children, ages 2 and 3, for 15 minutes. Upon Warm’s arrival back to the car, reports state that she informed the officer that she was the kids’ au pair, and had left for five minutes to get food while the kids were sleeping.

The children’s mother was contacted, Warm was arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket and $250 bail.

Drugs

• Harley Decker, 18, of Sag Harbor, was arrested on Aug. 5 on felony charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, and misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of marijuana in the fourth degree, and two charges of criminally using drug paraphernalia.

According to police, Decker was pulled over while driving eastbound on Jermain Avenue while his view was obstructed. Police said that upon approaching the truck, Decker “appeared very nervous and fidgety.” According to the arrest report, an officer asked Decker if he had any drugs or weapons in his car, and he admitted that “pills and weed” were in a duffle bag.

Police reportedly found several bags of marijuana and 15 ecstasy pills in the bag, as well as several empty envelopes and a digital scale. Decker was brought to headquarters and processed for arraignment.
