Police: Woman Mistook Gas Pedal for Brake, Hit Car and Carvel

A 65-year-old East Hampton woman trying to park at in Bridgehampton Monday hit the gas instead of the brake, driving into a 2010 Lexus then , according to police.

Sgt. Michael Joyce said no injuries were reported after Ellyn Tucker hit the ice cream parlor with her 2005 Mercedes Benz SUV. No charges were filed.

A fire marshal from the department of public safety and an inspector from the building department responded to make sure the building was safe, Joyce said. After the SUV was removed, the fire marshal declared the building unsafe for occupancy and prohibited anyone from entering.
