Police: Bridgehampton Man Drove Drunk With Child in Car

A 35-year-old Bridgehampton man was arrested in Sagaponack Monday and charged with driving drunk with a 7-year-old in the car, according to police.

said Ross Milligan, 35, was driving northbound on Sagg Main Street when he was pulled over for speeding and running through a stop sign. Police determined he was intoxicated and placed him under arrest, according to authorities.

Under New York State's Leandra's Law, Milligan was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger less than 16 years old, a felony. He was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless driving, both misdemeanors, and speeding, a traffic violation.

The child was released into the custody of family members and Child Protective Services was notified, police said.
