On Sunday at 5:18 a.m., the Riverhead Police Department was called to the Peconic Bay Medical Center’s Emergency Room to investigate a possible stabbing.

Upon arrival the victim told the officers that he had been in the parking lot of the Royal Dorado Bar, #11005 East Main Street in Riverhead, when he was attacked.

The victim said that three unknown Hispanic men assaulted him as he left the bar.

The three men stabbed the victim with a knife and other patrons of the bar eventually broke up the fight. The victim then fled the scene of the fight and checked himself into the Peconic Bay Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Riverhead Police Department at 727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
