A man driving on Scuttle Hole Road in Bridgehampton Sunday evening decided to challenge a Ferrari driver to a race — a move that ended with the man being airlifted to the hospital, according to authorities.
The Ferrari driver apparently wanted no part in a race.
“The one car took off in front of the other car and wrecked,” Sgt. John Boden said.
The man, who sideswiped a tree with his Honda, suffered minor trauma, but he was medevaced to Stony Brook University Medical Center via Suffolk police helicopter as a precaution because of a head injury, Boden said.
The crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. and responded to the scene, west of the Butter Lane intersection. It took rescuers a half hour to extricate the victim from the mangled Honda.
Boden said no more information was available at this time. He said he anticipates no further police action or charges.
Guess what experience you do not get to get a 2nd chance with on the street? ? ? Go ahead guess
As far as reading my mind to know what I do and have I'm impressed By the way as far as it being me... I don't drive like a lunatic so no I will not be getting into an accident from drag racing Now take your mullet head back to the deep south or 20 years into history with your self promoting slime self and give it up
Sadly, due to soaring property values, population explosion, and a plethora of other factors, most of the race tracks and dragstrips have disappeared from Long Island . Auto racing, in all of its various facets, however, is more popular and lucrative than it has ever been. Riverhead Town is now faced with yet another Golden Opportunity to embrace the creation of a motorsports facility on the former Grumman property. If it were created, this facility would benefit Riverhead and surrounding communities in several ways; The boost to the economy should be obvious to anyone. Giving people a legitimate place to race will, no doubt, reduce the amount of street racing, for reasons I hope I do not need to enumerate here. The historical significance of the region can, and should be highlighted and preserved. Now, I realize that there are many people who, like Daniel, who previously posted here, consider the automobile to be simply a "transportation appliance" - just a necessary evil to get from point A to point B. That's. fine. Collect Beanie babies or listen to your Judy garland records. You obvously have time on your hands. Wise up.
while I do have a few collections none of them are bennie babys as far as my opinion on cars My first thought is that they are far less important than peoples lives as far as sucking off of someones pain in an accident to self promote my dreams of days gone by I will choose to live in todays world get a life in todays world and stop living in the past..
Oh and thank you ... you have no idea what a huge compliment it is that you don't like me...........
