Incident Reports: Road Rage and Stolen Pills

Also reported to Southampton Town police, were several incidents of leaving the scene of an accident.

Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:

Criminal Mischief

• A Southampton business owner reported on April 30 that four intoxicated people entered his business and started yelling at him about a phone. One of the individuals, police said broke a patio table and a window while leaving. Police are investigating.

Leaving the Scene


• A Watermill resident reported to police on May 1 that a gray BMW struck the passenger side of his car on Montauk Highway and then fled. Police said they have no witnesses.

• An East Hampton resident told police on May 1 that someone struck her car that was parked in the Rite Aid parking lot in Bridgehampton. Police are still investigating.

• A Sag Harbor resident reported to police on April 26 that a 2005 gray Mercedes Benz struck his car while he was trying to make a left-turn on County Road 34 in Watermill.

• A Sag Harbor resident reported to police that while driving in Bridgehampton a car pulled out in front of her forcing her to swerve off the road and into a rail fence. The driver of the car, she told police, did stop, but yelled at her that it “was her fault” and the took off.

Petty Larceny


• The Southampton School District told police on April 30 that someone stole a license plate off a school car parked at a residence of an employee in Mastic Beach. Police are investigating.

• On May 2, A Southampton resident told police that someone stole prescription pills from his unlocked car that was parked on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.

• A Noyac resident reported to police this week that two of his Adirondack chairs, valued at $500 were stolen from his residence.

Criminal Mischief


• A Southampton resident told police on May 1 that someone scratched the letter “K” into the passenger side door of her car, which was parked in her driveway.
