Homicide Detectives Investigate Drowning of 29-Year-Old Woman

On Thursday, the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives were called in to investigate the drowning of Brooklyn woman found in a Hampton Bays swimming pool.

At 12:02 p.m. officers from the Town of Southampton Police responded to a 911 call from 23 Wakeman Road, in Hampton Bays, requesting help with a residential swimming pool accident. Upon arrival, the police found Olya Lipina, 29, of 1521 Ocean Avenue, in Brooklyn, unresponsive in the swimming pool. Lipina was declared dead at the scene. Subsequently, the Suffolk County Police Homicide detectives were called upon to investigate.
