Crook Turned Cameras Away Before Theft

Police officers investigate camera-adjusting incident as petty larceny.

A thief twisted the security cameras outside of on County Road 39 away from a vending machine then stole $70 from it last week, according to police.

A 38-year-old employee of the hardware store told that on Nov. 21 at around 11:33 p.m. someone wearing all white and driving a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee drove up to the shop and adjusted the cameras away from the vending machine, according to the incident report.

A few minutes later, the cameras were moved back to their original position, but approximately $70 was missing from the machine, police said.

Officers are investigating the crime as petty larceny and, in their search for a suspect, will use the video evidence that the security cameras managed to capture.
