Firefighters Respond to House Fire in Mt. Misery

Flames were reportedly quickly brought under control after the fire began just after 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Flames were reportedly showing through the roof at a house in Mt. Misery, just outside Sag Harbor Village, as the first responding units arrived on Sunday night.

The fire was reported at 92 Mt. Misery Drive, but the address ended up being 89 Mt. Misery Drive, at around 7:10 p.m., and the Sag Harbor Fire Department and Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Association were on the road within minutes.

Though the fire was reported through the roof, the fire was brought under control soon after the first engine arrived. Chiefs told other responding units to proceed with caution.

The Southampton Town Fire Marshal's office was called to investigate the cause.

No further information was available immediately. Check back for more information when it becomes available.
