UPDATE: Fire Dept. Finds No Danger at Ross School
Suspected electrical fire reported Tuesday morning turns out to be nothing, according to school.
Update 1:45 p.m.: Bridgehampton firefighters were called to the Ross Lower School field house cafe Tuesday morning for a report of the smell of something burning, but no cause for alarm was found, according to Ross Lower School Director Elka Rifkin.
Rifkin said no smoke was detected when the smell was noticed. "We thought it might be electrical, so we called the fire department," she said. "However, upon investigation, the fire department did not find any hot spots and confirmed it was safe for us to continue working in that space. An electrician has been called to explore the area further."
"At no point were students in any danger,” she added.
