According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the four young men face up to $1700 in fines after posting the photos on Instagram.

A man who held up a Calverton Hess at gunpoint recently could be wanted in a string of other Suffolk County armed robberies, police said. Suffolk County Police said they are also working with Southold Town police to see if the suspect could be linked to this week's armed robbery at Game Stop in Mattituck.

Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a series of armed robberies that occurred at businesses throughout Suffolk County since the end of October.

Police said that, during the past two weeks, a man entered eight establishments and pretended to purchase an item.When the employees opened their cash registers, the man displayed a black handgun and demanded cash. The suspect then fled the locations on foot, possibly to a vehicle waiting nearby.

The robberies have occurred at seven gas stations located in Calverton, Eastport, Mastic, North Babylon, St. James, Dix Hills and Bohemia as well as at Jamba Juice in Stony Brook. No one was injured during any of the robberies, police said.

Riverhead Teacher Pleads Guilty To Southampton DWI, Gun Charge Dropped

After months of speculation, Riverhead fourth grade teacher Joseph Johnson pleaded guilty on Thursday in Suffolk County Court to misdemeanor drunken driving, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota.

Johnson was arrested by Southampton Village police at approximately 3:30 a.m. on April 21, 2012, on Hill Street in Southampton and charged with driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a loaded gun, police said.

Incident Report: Construction Trailers Looted

Two contractors called police on Nov. 4 to report that their construction trailers were broken into sometime between Nov. 2 and Nov. 4 while they were parked at a job site at an undisclosed street in Water Mill. According to police whoever committed the crime had cut the locks securing the trailers by using some sort of power tool and stole three bundles and one roll of copper tubing valued at more than $6,000 from one trailer. They then stole a gas compressor and an extension level valued at $1,150 from the second trailer. According to police they did receive a suspicious incident report at around 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 3, when someone observed a male subject riding a bicycle north on Ocean Road from Mecox Road while carrying a roll of copper. Police went to the location and searched for the man on the bicycle but came up empty. Detectives have been handed the case and the investigation is ongoing.

East Hampton

19-Year-Old Arrested In Springs Liquor Store Robbery

Less than 48 hours after a man made off with cash from a robbery at the Springs Wines & Liquors on Saturday, East Hampton Town police made an arrest. East Hampton Town police said John X. Tracy III, 19, who lives on Kings Point Road in Springs, was charged with first-degree robbery, a felony, on Monday.
