Thomas W. Havlik, 60, of Montauk, was spotted swerving in Montauk in a police officer's side-view mirror on Aug. 6 at 2:40 a.m., an arrest report said. The officer turned around and followed Havlik's Toyota pick-up truck, which was allegedly still swerving. Police pulled him over near South Fulton Drive, where he stopped for "two seconds" and then continued to merge back into traffic. Approximately 50 feet later, he stopped in the shoulder. When police asked him to perform field sobriety tests, "he mocked and performed the tests in his own matter" without following directions. A breath test done at headquarters resulted in a reading of a .21 blood alcohol level. He was charged with aggravated DWI. Justice Lisa R. Rana released him on $300 bail.

After Michael D. Butler, 52, of Wilmington, Del., was pulled over in Amagansett on the evening of Aug. 7, police said they found an open can of Bud Light upright between his feet and, later, several empty bottles of Veil Vodka in the center console of his Jeep. A tipster had alerted police to an erratic driver on Montauk Highway around 7:55 p.m. Then an officer said he saw Butler pull out of the  gas station and make a wide right-hand turn onto the highway, crossing into the opposite lane. A test at headquarters resulted in a .14 blood alcohol reading and he was charged with DWI. Justice Catherine A. Cahill released him the next day on $750 bail.
