Cops: Woman Arrested After Fleeing Water Mill Accident
Flanders woman's license plate was left behind at the scene of the accident, which injured two, police say.
arrested a Flanders woman Tuesday night, charging that she left the scene of a four-car accident in Water Mill that injured two others, including one who was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. and 21-year-old Dorely Hernandez was arrested just under four and a half hours later. Police said that her license plate was left behind when she fled the scene, Montauk Highway at the Mecox Road intersection. Police said it was a chain reaction rear-end collision and she left withotu exchanging information with the other drivers.
She was processed at police headquarters in Hampton Bays and given a desk appearance ticket.
