Cops: Man Takes Beer Bottle To the Face Outside 75 Main

Montauk man charged with felony assault on Nov. 28.

A 25-year-old Montauk man was arrested on a felony assault charge after a fight in front of 75 Main in Southampton on Nov. 28.

Southampton Village police said Victor M. Ortega-Ferrer, was arrested after they received a 911 call at 3:09 a.m. When they arrived, they found a 48-year- old man on the sidewalk covered with blood from a severe facial laceration, they said.

A short time later, they found Ortega-Ferrer running east on Hampton Road. He was arrested at about 4 a.m., and charged with second-degree assault.

Police said he got into a verbal altercation over a woman while inside 75 Main that turned physical. The figure continued outside, where he struck the victim in the face with a beer bottle, according to police.

Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance transported the victim to Southampton Hospital, where a plastic surgeon treated him, police said.

Ortega-Ferrer was remanded to the Suffolk County jail in lieu of $1,500.
