Cops Offer Cash Reward in Southampton Village Burglary, Arson Case

Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000.

Police are asking for the public's help to identify the suspects who burglarized a house in Southampton Village, stole a Jeep and then torched it last month.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of those involved in the Nov. 14 incident.

In a statement issued with the Southampton Village Police Department on Tuesday morning, investigators said they believe several people burglarized a house on Pheasant Close North in the village and took two flat screen televisions, assorted jewelry, a safe, cash and other items, police said.

A 2012 Jeep Liberty was also taken from the property. It was found burned in a wooded area off North Magee Street in Tuckahoe the next day.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Police asked that anyone with information call in anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
