Cops: Aquebogue Woman Altered Check, Charged With Forgery

The defendant is facing a felony charge, police said.

An Aquebogue woman was cuffed after police said she forged a check and deposited it into her own account.

According to Southampton Town police, on Saturday, detectives arrested Tara O'Malley, 47, after she allegedly altered her employer's check last month and deposited it into her personal bank account.

O'Malley was charged with forgery in the second degree, a felony, and possession of a forged instrument.
