Southampton Village police arrested a Hampton Bays man Sept. 19, saying he hacked into a someone's personal bank account and helped himself to $9,600.
Police said 28-year-old Matthew Rewinski was charged with grand larceny in the third degree and two counts of computer tampering in the first degree, both felonies, as well as unauthorized use of a computer and unlawful possession of personal identification information in the third degree, both misdemeanors.
At his arraignment, he was ordered to be held at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility. in Riverside, according to police.
