Car Hits Southampton Village Bank

Two taken to the hospital after Sunday accident on Hill Street.

A car struck the Hudson City Savings Bank in Southampton Village on Sunday afternoon, sending two people to the hospital.

The Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance, along with the Southampton Fire Department, was dispatched to a report of a vehicle striking the bank on Hill Street at 3:42 p.m., according to Second Assistant Fire Chief Chris Brenner.

"The vehicle struck the building causing only minor damage to its door," Brenner said, adding that no structural damage was found. The bank was closed at the time.

The ambulance transported two people to Southampton Hospital for evaluation.

The Southampton Village Police Department are investigating the cause of the accident.
