Security cameras at on Noyac Road in Noyac caught a minor hit-and-run accident on camera, a rare occurrence, according to police.

A 38-year-old man from Sag Harbor told that sometime between 4 p.m. on July 31 and noon the following day, someone hit his 2007 grey Jeep Grand Cherokee while he was shopping at Cromer’s. Police were able to see the culprit on tape thanks to Cromer’s security cameras.

Taped footage shows a Black GMC Suburban back into a parking spot next to the Cherokee and hit the SUV’s driver’s side bumper. The driver of the Suburban pulled out of the spot, moved his car to another, spoke to someone and then fled the scene. The video did not show a clear picture of the license plate but police are investigating.
