The Bridgehampton Fire Department held its annual chiefs election Thursday and picked new leadership for the 117-year-old fire service.
Gary Horsburgh, a Sag Harbor resident, was elected chief. After serving as the first assistant chief this past year, he will assume his new post Jan. 1.
Horsburgh was first on scene during a fatal fire at Cozy Cabins in Wainscott in February.
Bridgehampton resident Chuck Broadmeadow was chosen to be the next first assistant chief and Jeffrey White, of Sagaponack, was named second assistant chief.
