Multiple fire departments and the Southampton Town Hazardous Materials Team responded to a barn fire at Schwenks Farm in Sagaponack on Sunday afternoon, shutting down Montauk Highway for three hours.
Southampton Town police said they received the report of the fire at 12:15 p.m. at 3491 Montauk Highway. Southampton Town Police and Bridgehampton, Southampton, Amagansett, Sag Harbor, East Hampton and North Sea fire departments were dispatched to extinguish the fire, located in a storage barn housing various farm equipment, according to police.
Bridgehampton, East Hampton and Southampton Town ambulance companies responded as well, though no injuries were reported, according to police.
Montauk Highway was shut down between Sagg Road and Wainscott Harbor Road for three hours.
The Southampton Hazardous Materials Team investigated after the fire was extinguished, police said.
