Town Police Log: Sex Offender Charged With Failure to Register Address

Failing to Register as a Sex Offender
• Kourtney Hughes, 27, of Southampton, was arrested Nov. 2 on a felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender. Hughes was charged at 12:19 a.m. at police headquarters in Hampton Bays. According to the New York State Sex Offender Registry, Hughes was convicted in 2008 of having sex with a minor.

DWI
• James Haring, 32, of Sag Harbor, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, after police stopped his vehicle Nov. 4 on Noyac Road in Noyac, at 12:20 a.m. Cops additionally reported that they observed an open alcoholic beverage in the center console of Haring's car.
