Town Police Log: Felony Charge for Repeat DWI Driver in Water Mill

Also among the week's arrests, DWI charges in North Haven and North Sea.

Editor’s Note: The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not convictions.
Arrests from east of the Shinnecock Canal, Oct. 8 to 14:

Driving While Intoxicated

• Rodrigo Tocay, 25, of East Hampton, was charged with felony DWI on Oct. 13 in Water Mill at 8:45 p.m. after his car was stopped on Bay Avenue. Police say Tocay was also operating the vehicle without a required interlock device that’s designed to stop a car from starting while the driver is intoxicated. The DWI charge was elevated to a felony because of a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years, police said.

• Luke Ferrara, 41, of Glen Cove, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Oct. 11 in North Haven at 10:04 p.m. after his car was stopped on State Route 114.

• Erin Tuffy, 30, of Southampton, was arrested on a charge of DWI, a misdemeanor, Oct. 9 at 7:55 p.m. after her vehicle was stopped in Bridgehampton on North Sea Road in North Sea.

If they are caught with a DWI then it should be AUTOMATIC that they loose all driving privileges no trial no taxpayer trials just all together loose drivers licenses and all of their cars, all transportation privileges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's spelled LOSE, and no, in fact some people do not deserve to LOSE their licenses or vehicles. I think you would find yourself more agreeable if you were affected in an actually personal way rather than the perspective of the voyeuristic troll that you clearly are. Some people deserve to be suspended, some deserve breathalyzers in their cars, some people should never drive again. Get a grip Leslie, this is Suffolk county, home of the highest DUI arrest rate in America, get used to it or get out.
