Question of the Day: How Do You Beat Summer Traffic?

The 'summer swell' is almost here.

Hamptons traffic has been significantly easier to take since the widening of County Road 39 a couple of years ago, but between Memorial Day and Labor Day the traffic remains at the top of the list of locals' and visitors' complaints.

How do you beat Hamptons traffic? Do you know an alternative route, do you find a certain time of day more convenient? Or do you just stay home?

Have to step up for Brendan on this one. Nothing negative in asking "How do you beat summer traffic?" Agreed we all benefit from the summer visitors, but the traffic sucks - plain and simple. By the way, I know a number of "summer people" and they are not too fond of it either.

Ya know what Yogi would say..... that resturant closed because it was so busy no one goes there anymore. Fact is Brendan all the efforts of those who live here year round are to keep this a small town. That means our infrastructure will not expand to accomodate the seasonal trade at the expence of what brings people here in the first place. So Dave I did get that right. So let me say this again. Enjoy the ride thru Paradise, sing aloud with the windows down, and look at all the people who would give anything to live out here. Lets not focus on let's see.... Oh the Lymes disease scare we here every year, hypodermic needles on the shore, body parts from blown up airplanes and lets not forget the pine barrens fire of about 12 years ago. Lets find some way to print a negative about the best freakin place on Earth to make a lively Q&A.
