Better Shopping Day: Black Friday or Small Business Saturday?

Do you prefer the best deals or to keep the money in your community?

Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year where people hit department stores and outlet centers searching for the best deals, often waiting on lines for hours in the cold before the stores even open for sales. The next day is Small Business Saturday, where you could support small businesses by shopping within your own community. While you may not get the best deals you probably won't have to wait on long lines in the cold.

In short: Friday would most likely save you the most money, while Saturday keeps your money local.

What day do you prefer to shop on? Let us know in the comments.

Either way people aren't shopping enough! New York now has a buget gap 170.8 million since July, and we currently are looking at a gap of 259.8 million for the fiscal year. In order to close that gap revenues will have to go up 5.1% in the last five months of this fiscal year. Hope the school districts aren't looking for additional $$$$ for the 13/14 year-probably reducations instead!

I have no money to shop. The tax bill arrives in a few weeks, recovering from Sandy, and taking care of displaced family. Shopping is really not at the top of my list, but I do hope the LOCAL shop owners prevail!
