Southampton Resident Harry Krzyzewski Dies at 54

Lifelong resident was an avid outdoorsman

Harold M. Krzyzewski, a lifetime Southampton resident, died at home on Aug. 16 at the age of 54.

Born on June 20, 1958, Krzyzewski was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and clamming. Known to many as "Uncle Harry," he also loved his family.

Krzyzewski was a past member of the , serving for more than 15 years.

Krzyzewski was predeceased by his father, Harold, and nephews Brian Cooke and Sean Krzyzewski. he is survived by his mother, Nancy Krzyzewski of Southampton; his son Austin of Hampton Bays; three sisters, Linda Cooke and her husband Brian of Southampton, Debra Krzyzewski and her partner James Conover of Hampton Bays and Dawn Ruiz of Southampton. He is also survived by his brother, Jeff Krzyzewski, and wife Linda of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, and girlfriend of 14 years, Gwen Trpicovsky. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A wake, memorial service and firematic services were held Aug. 22 at , followed by a private cremation.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Cooke, Krzyzewski, Roessle-Meerman Memorial Scholarship Fund C/O O’Connell’s Funeral Home, 30 Little Plains Road, Southampton, NY 11968.
