Southampton Resident Dolores Buttonow Dies at 82

Buttonow enjoyed traveling, gardening, needlework and weekend casino trips.

Dolores M. Buttonow, a lifelong resident of Southampton, died Friday at Stony Brook University Hospital. Born Jan. 21, 1930, she was 82.

Buttonow was a graduate and worked at until her retirement. Buttonow enjoyed traveling and visited Hawaii, California, Las Vegas and Greenland. She also enjoyed gardening, needlework and weekend casino trips.

She is survived by her brother, Stanley Buttonow, and sister, Cornelia Buttonow, both from Southampton, her niece, Marie Jackson of Virginia, a nephew, Kenneth Janik of Florida, and Maria Greenlaw of Hampton Bays, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Visitation was held at . A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday at followed by interment at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery in Southampton.
