Services for Shonda Pettaway Begin Monday
Funeral for Southampton Village resident is Tuesday.
Shonda M. Pettaway, of Southampton Village, died Wednesday following a long battle with cancer.
Pettaway was diagnosed about five years ago with breast cancer, which went into remission for a time but then returned, according to her family.
The first visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bridgehampton.
A second visitation will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the church, followed by a funeral service begining at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Frank Bryant.
Burial is planned at Edgewood Cemetery on Edgewood Road in Bridgehampton.
Arrangements are being made by Brockett Funeral Home.
Pettaway is survived by her husband, Roggie Pettaway; four children, Treva, Tramar, Porsha and Travon; daughter-in-law, Chanelle Gregory-Pettaway, and a grandson, Taylen Pettaway.
Her family held a fundraiser in March to help pay for medical bills after her insurance lapsed.
