Pop Artist James Rizzi, of Noyac, Dies

He was official artist of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

James Rizzi, an internationally known pop artist who had a home in Noyac, died Monday at his New York City studio, the BBC reports.

The artist, best known for his bright, cartoon-like drawings and 3D designs, created the cover for the first album of the band Tom Tom Club and was the official artist for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, according to The Huffington Post

He is also know for the "Happy Rizzi House" in Braunschweig, Germany (pictured).

listed Rizzi's Noyac home and artist's studio, "Sans art, $595,000. With it stocked with Rizzi's work $795,000." According to the listing, the Noyac Road property sold recently.
