James Damato of Sag Harbor Dies at 50

Was a woodworker and designer.

James Damato, of Sag Harbor, a former resident of Ossining and Pleasantville, died May 2 at the age of 50.

He was born Aug. 20, 1962, in Bronxville to Lorraine and Ralph DAmato.

Damato worked as a designer and woodworker. In 1994, he started a business on the East End, James Damato Designs Works, located in East Hampton, which designed, fabricated and installed custom cabinets and furniture.

He is survived by his sister, Lori DAmato, of Ossining;  his brother, Raphael Damato, of Santa Fe, N.M.; and atwo nephews, Thomas and Maxwell Gustin.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. May 16 at
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Westchester, 236 S. Bedford Rd., Mt. Kisco, NY 10549.
