Black Is Beautiful!

Did you know that black dogs are much harder to place than dogs of other colors?

Did you know that black dogs are much harder to place than dogs of other colors?  The phenomenon is called Black Dog Syndrome and is well known to shelter workers and rescue organizations across the nation.  Black dogs are the last dogs to find homes and often among the first to be euthanized, which is why SO many of our available dogs are black.

This weekend we hope to bring some of our beautiful black dogs to New York in hopes of finding them a forever home in time for the holidays.  As they patiently wait for their ride to freedom the only thing holding them back is a foster home.

YOU can make the difference!  Please consider fostering a dog in transition to their forever home, space for a crate and your time and love can save a life.  If you you are interested in fostering or adopting please contact info@lcarescue.org today and make this a weekend to remember for these beautiful dogs:

If you aren't able to adopt or foster consider volunteering.  Many weekends we have a transport and for many the most rewarding part of the day is greeting the new arrivals.  In addition we always need help during adoption events, transport locally and a variety of other tasks from marketing to fund raising.  If you aren't able to sacrifice your time then please consider sponsoring an animal in need, donating or simply sharing our mission with others who may want to get involved.
