Hey, New York! Let's Be the First State in the Nation to Pass a GMO Labeling Law

New York is one of 37 States are working to pass GMO Labeling laws in America. We deserve the right to know what we are eating!

If you eat food, and have been hearing about this GMO (genetically modified organism) food buzz....you'll be surprised to know that we Americans have been eating them for nearly 20 years, but they are unlableled in the U.S.

GMOs are linked to a number of environmental and health risks that can no longer be ignored. Let's talk about passing our NY State GMO Labeling Bill, what GMOs really are and why it's time the United States labels them so we can decide for ourselves whether or not to buy them.

-NY State Right To Know GMO Labeling Bill: A3525/S3835 Legislation
we need to pass to make labeling GMOs the law in New York by the end of our state legislative session in June 2013.

Speaker, Kathleen Furey, Education Director for GMO Free NY: Right To Know Campaign NYS member of the National Coalition to Label GMOs explains, “New York has joined 37 States allied to pass GMO Labeling Laws that will provide clear labeling of  foods containing GMO ingredients. Over 60 nations either restrict or ban GMOs. An estimated 80% of foods found in US grocery stores contain GMOs. But, there are no U.S. laws that require labels to identify GMOs, so we can decide whether or not to buy them.”
