Good Weather Brings 'em Out

After a good Memorial Day weekend, how do we make it a successful Summer of 2012?

With the numbers, conversations, and opinions in from area business folks around the East End and the Hamptons, it seems that Memorial Day 2012 will be known as the best one in recent years.

Good weather and sunshine influenced, the beaches opened with fanfare, , and restaurants from the new in Southampton, to the new in Hampton Bays, were packed full and had everyone talking.

It seems that even in theses tough economic times and nervous spending, rising gas prices, people were coming out in droves to enjoy themselves and jump start our local economy.

One thing on the minds of those in the business community is whether or not we can continue the promising run we have started without shooting ourselves in the foot at the point of making a buck. There has always been a stringing balance of white collar vs. blue collar. Whether it's the $30 appetizers at or the $15 entrees at , success will be measured by the long term over the short gain.

Price conscious and price point will keep us as a community, from pricing ourselves out of the market, and revel in a successful summer as well as the rest of 2012...
