Skyler and Javier, two children being aided by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County, lighted the 's tree on on Saturday, kicking off the village's "Magic on Main Street" holiday season.
Skyler, whose wish is to travel to Disney World to bake with their pastry chefs, also got a lesson Saturday at from owners Keith and Nancy Kouris. According to Make-A-Wish, Skyler learned hands-on how to make linzer tarts, apple strudel, pie crust and chocolate sponge cake. "She also mastered the intricate details of cake and cupcake decorating, her favorite."
Her lessons prepare Skyler to make gingerbread houses at Disney World later this month.
