Always Amazed...

We are always amazed at the true spirit and generosity from people who have been so hugely affected by this tragedy.

We just got a letter from someone that had received a check from someone to give to a relief organization. It's not a huge check, but every dollar adds up. This woman has been through hell and back. Her home was destroyed and she had to leave the state because she could no longer afford to stay here. She has had one horrible thing after another happen and can't seem to catch a break. She had somehow misplaced the check; she had told us about it months ago and she just found it. She is so upset that she hasn't given us the check yet — makes me want to cry. Here she is feeling badly that WE don't have a check, when she could really use it herself. Many people would have just kept it. Our faith in humanity raises every day because of people like her.
