GoFundMe Campaign Seeks $25K for Long Island Science Center

Nonprofit center in Riverhead seeks to raise money for exhibits and programming in a new building.

A bookkeeper at the Long Island Science Center in Riverhead has a launched a GoFundMe campaign seeking to raise $25,000 for the nonprofit center. 

Wendy Werner started the online fundraiser last month to raise money to expand exhibits and programming in a planned new building. 

"Our goal is to fill our new building with interactive exhibits that support our educational programming," Werner wrote in describing the purpose of the fundraising campaign. "These plans include expanding our ecological exhibits to help teach children about ecosystems, showcase advancements in technology, and explore changes on earth both evolutionary and geological."
