In Southampton, Veterans Day services are hosted by the Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events, starting with a parade at 10:45 a.m. from the First Presbyterian Church, continues down Jobs Lane, to Agawam Park. All veterans are invited to march and participate in the ceremony at the park, which begins at 11 a.m.
Master of Ceremonies is WestPoint graduate and committee member, Bill Jones. The Guest Speaker is Retired Colonel Chris Dyer III — the Tuckahoe School District Superintendent — who was a decorated officer and served for more than 26 years.
Kristen Steinke will sing the National Anthem, and Anita Boyer and the Southampton High School band will perform patriotic songs.
All veterans and their families are invited to the Veterans Memorial Hall for refreshments immediately following the service.
