Shinnecock Bay Educational Event

Celebrate

Shinnecock Bay at an Event Hosted by the Shinnecock
Bay Restoration

Program and the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons

The Shinnecock Bay Restoration Program, an initiative of

Stony Brook University's School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, is

partnering with the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons to offer a public

educational event that will raise awareness of the Church’s concern for and

stewardship of the environment and  of

Shinnecock Bay and the efforts to restore it.

The event will feature educational activities such as touch

tanks and shellfish experiments, as well as a brief talk by one of the

program’s lead scientists. Students and project staff will be on hand to

interact with the public, showcase life in the bay, and explain their research

efforts to understand and restore the bay.
