ONLY YOU: AN AUTHOR VISIT WITH EILEEN OBSER

Join the Hampton Library for its Memoirs & Memories series. In June We welcome author Eileen Obser. Set in the late 1950s, Eileen shares her personal experiences growing up in Queens and her doomed to fail marriage at eighteen. She shows how two naive, uninformed teenagers were influenced by social and religious pressures to disastrous consequences. Musician Ken Morsch will recreate the music that shapes her narrative. Eileen Obser teaches personal essay and memoir at our library and creative writing courses at colleges and libraries on Long Island. Her stories have appeared in The Washington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Ms Magazine, Newsday, The Boston Globe,The East Hampton Star, Proteus, and The Southampton Review.
