FLPG & SoFo: Full Sturgeon Moon Hike

The Native American fishing tribes are given credit for the naming of this moon, since sturgeon were most readily caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze. Join us for this leisurely paced one-hour hike in Vineyard Field, the field behind the South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo), and afterward, for some convivial conversation and refreshments in the moonshine.  Meet at the SoFo Museum parking lot, 377 Bridgehampton Turnpike 200 yards north of the RR tracks. To make a reservation for this program, please call the museum at 631-537-9735 or night of event contact leader Jean Dodds, 631-599-2391.
