FABULOUS FISH – SCULPTURES BY JOHN RIST, JR. OPENING NIGHT

John Rist is a Southampton native and owner of Herbert & Rist Wine and Liquor Store. Anyone who has gone into his store on Jobs Lane feels tipsy from delight when they see his wonderful display of fish sculptures around the store. Rist’s fascination with marine life predates his interest in portraying them in wood and paint by many years. He uses plywood, old beach fencing, acrylic paint, and assorted items of hardware and transforms them into spectacular rough hewn, bas relief, polychrome sculptures of vivid marine life. The Exhibit Opening is Free and will take place on August 10: 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The Exhibit will be on display from Saturday, August 10 through Saturday, November 2 at the Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton Village.
