The Watermill Center Presents a Screening of Robert Wilson's Shakespeare's Sonnets

Join us at The Watermill Center for a screening of Shakespeare's Sonnets, an opera directed by our own Artistic Director,Robert Wilson, with music by Rufus Wainwright.  Shakespeare's Sonnetspremiered in April 2009 at the Berliner Ensemble in Berlin, Germany. 24 of Shakespeare's famous 154 sonnets, published in 1609, were selected by Robert Wilson for his staging set to music by singer/songwriter, Rufus Wainwright. In this work, Robert Wilson has created a highly stylized design for each sonnet including lavish costumes, extravagent hair and makeup, and his trademark lighting.
